CP 01 — About The Federation

Governing a young, fast-growing
national sport.

Kenya Obstacle Sports Federation (KOSF) is the recognised national governing body responsible for the development, regulation and promotion of obstacle-based sport across the country. KOSF exists to give athletes, clubs and counties a single, credible home for Obstacle Course Racing, Ninja Warrior and Adventure Racing.

Our mandate spans grassroots development to elite representation — setting standards for competition, supporting local clubs and county associations, and connecting Kenyan athletes to the international obstacle sports movement.

CP 02 — The Disciplines

Three Sports. One Federation.

Every KOSF discipline shares the same core test — get from start to finish over, under and through whatever stands in the way. Here's how each one is different.

Discipline 01

OCR

Obstacle Course Racing is a foot-race sport where competitors take on physical obstacles over distances ranging from short sprint layouts to multi-kilometre courses that blend trail, road and cross-country running.

Wall Climbs Rope Climbs Monkey Bars Heavy Carries Mud & Water Fire Jumps
Modern OCR traces back to 1987 and now powers 2,500+ events held around the world every year.
Discipline 02

Ninja Warrior

Popularised worldwide through televised competition and inspired by Japan's Sasuke format, Ninja Warrior tests grip, balance and power across staged obstacle rigs of escalating difficulty.

Balance Rigs Grip Strength Warped Wall Timed Qualifiers
Competitors progress through Qualifier, Semifinal and a four-part Final course — each stage harder than the last.
Discipline 03

Adventure Racing

A multi-discipline team endurance sport combining navigation across unmarked terrain with trekking, mountain biking and paddling — sometimes extended with climbing, abseiling or white-water rafting.

Trekking Mountain Biking Paddling Navigation Non-Stop Clock
Races run from two hours to two weeks, non-stop — typically raced by mixed-gender teams of two to five.
